POLL: drive in winter after not for 5yr???
i figured id ask here since you all know the brutality of a new england winter. i have not driven my 93 se-r since i bought it back in 2005. when i got her she was filled with all the normal rust and rot including a non-existant lower radiator support. she was in surgery for a solid 2 weeks getting tuned-up and metal replacement every spare moment. there is one rocker that still needs repair that i let go and will do this spring/summer. shes since been boosted and i totally miss driving her!!! with it now being february, im pondering starting early and breaking her out of her winter slumber. the clackity clack of the salt desrtoying my pick up truck literally gives my chills!!! i want to prolong her life, but i MISS driving her badly. OPINIONS PLEASE!

I have been driving my car through the winter. I try to not drive it as much as possible when there are poor weather conditions or a ton of salt on the roads. I do pressure wash the living piss out of it though. There was not a spec of rust on my when I got it so I am trying to keep it that way. I did consider coating the underside of the car to help prevent the cancer from starting. Prepare to spend a lot of cash at the car wash to keep it salt-free. Also, buy yourself a can of lock de-icer. It will come in handy when temps drop. Lol.

What Bes said. Lots of washes whenever possible. If the temp is above freezing, I usually wash my car. This is my car's 3rd New York winter. Before that it was a North Carolina car so there is no rust on it. So far, I've been able to keep it that way. If the weather is really bad, just do what I do and make one of your friends with a subaru or an audi drive.
