Hello Monder, what an excellent choice you've made to go with the Nismotronic Speed Density solution.
The tune is going to be on road how can i detect knocking
All factory SR20 engines come equipped with a knock sensor. If you are unsure about detecting knock, maybe leave the ignition maps stock. You can use standard speed density compatible SR20DET ignition maps, and just leave the rest up to the knock sensor(bad gas or warm charge air scenarios)
or how can i tune it to the road safely?
To road tune safely, I recommend getting a co-driver. Or did you mean safe for the engine? In whatever case, getting a wideband installed is your #1 priority. There are Speed Density basetunes that work perfectly for a bone stock SR20DET, but the second you start making upgrades, (Turbo, Intake, Exhaust, Cams etc.), you need to tune your maps accordingly. Having wideband feedback will let you know if you're running dangerously lean in some parts of the map, or if you're wasting excessive fuel just cruising around.
Also, read, read, read the manual for Nismotronic, and do post up the complete specs of your engine. We can point you to what basetune you should start from if we know your specific setup.
