Rich Idle... Can't seem to get it to come up.
I'm trying to dial in my idle AFRs... Right now it's sitting around 12.5. I tried to take some fuel out in the fuel table, but it seems like no matter what I do, they stay about the same.

What other tables would affect the idle AFRs?

Also, are there any good reads on tuning principle or methodology (steps to take when tuning from the ground up)? I want to make sure I'm going about things the right way. It won't take me long to wrap my head around it, but a good start is always the best bet.

Thus far, I've been leaning on the rich side (ha!), to try and reduce the chances of detonation. My thought was to get everything a little rich, and then play with my injector size/latency to bring everything up to the 14.7 mark, or close. I've about got everything (acceleration, cruise) dialed in around the low 13's except for the idle.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!

You can try lowering the latency and/or pull some fuel out of the VQ table in the voltage area you are at during idle.

There is a general tuning section in the help portion of the software that should help you understand how things work a little better.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot. It's really just that idle AFR that's holding me back. I've been waiting on changing the latency (I'm assuming you mean the overall value in Fuel Adjustment) until I get it all below where i want it.

I gave it a good read. It's more wrapping my head around how changing one table or value alters the effectiveness of the other tables. If I understand correctly from the calculations, most of the tables/values are connected through the formulas used. Looks like I'll have to study those a bit more.

If I were to post my most recent TDC and a log, could you give it a quick glance over and make sure I'm heading in the right direction? This is my first tune, so any input from the pros is greatly appreciated.

Absolutely.

Either post it here or shoot it over via email!

Will do. I was playing around with a few things over lunch. I'll record a log on my way home and send it when I get there. Thanks.

Also, it has been a bit chilly over the last couple of days. I know the cold affects the fuel mix, but by how much, I'm not sure...

Make sure you maf is not tripping the low limit setting. Makes it run rich at idle, but that's usually like 10:1. Just a thought

Not a bad thought either. I'll double check. I think I'm over 1V, which I think is the default setting. I haven't messed with any of my MAF settings yet, except to select the Z32 MAF...
