If I spend 550 for the package deal I'm assuming I would have all the tools to be able to try and learn to tune it but I have no clue on tuning.

With the RT package, anyone can really help you out with tuning, including myself.

It makes it much easier to change the tune and log what is going on with the vehicle.

I do also offer an eTune service for this type of situation, which can help get you dialed in.

Ok so this can only work from home to a tuner? Im looking for a simple ve swap with a/c and being able to open up and bring the ve to life without getting the 550 package? Will this basic ecu work? can i tune or add or remove items lets say if i want in the future for n1 cams? Do i need a specific software? I had calum basic ecu for my boosted de for over a year, daily, used car for work, and it pulled hard and my engine still running good till this day what would be my best route ?

if you want to tune from home, you need software AND hardware. The basic ECUs use an EEPROM which you need to take off of the daugherboard, put it in your chip burner, then re-flash every time you want to make a change. FWIW, its worth the $550 package in the time you will save tuning. You are looking at about 4x the amount of work just to tune, which equates to $$$ in dyno time.

Ok so what specific hardware i need ,chip burner what kind , software what kind, taking out a chip for burn and putting back i dont mind that , 1st timer messing with a chipped ecu tune i would like to be a learning experience and mess with the software (being safe and on the conservative way of course) before i jump to the real 550 one again would like to be a safe tune but to bring power to the floor idk i see my honda buddies chage engines every now and then put chip in burner make modifications and dail with wideband and they pull good i thought i could do the same with ve?

In order to tune the basic board properly you will need a few things:

Hardware:
27SF512 Chip burner (i like my moates burn 2)
basic ECU
two 27SF512 chips (I like SST)
Nissan consult port adapter
serial to USB converter
wideband o2 sensor (I prefer innovate because it works well with Nissan data scan.)

Software:
TunePro (free)
Nissan Data scan ($50)
Software for your chip burner that can clear, ready, burn, verify 27SF512 chips in the proper hex address
You will also need to modify your base .xdf file in tunerpro to accommodate TP streaming into Nissan data scan.
You are also going to need to be competent enough with a computer to assign COM ports and work in a basic text editor.

Also I see you have a b14 in your picture, this is an OBD1 basic ECU so if you plan to use this in your b14 you will also have to get your hands on an obd2 to obd1 jumper harness.

In my opinion, if you plan to tune the car your self, get the NEMU package. If you are planning on taking the car somewhere to be tuned, get a basic board.

Seconded.

Burning roms is outdated technology, which requires more time and effort than what it's worth. Get the realtime solution, you will never regret it.

It can be compared to moving constantly changing files. What would you rather use, 700MB CD-R or an 8GB USB flash memory?

Ok trying to decide if this ecu will work for daily driven stock ve n62 maf stock 333s injectors b13 in a (altitude of mile ,51k-56k elevation ) for now , so that means i will need more fuel ? Or less fuel? Does every single guy here runs realtime ecu 550 package on a stock ve for daily? Whos running this ecu for daily? I would understand if this was a more complex build like boosted, e85, high boost application but again stock ve just trying to go-come to work

I run it for daily and never regretted moving from a basic to realtime. its just better in every single way. mine is basically a stock ve + n1 cams in a b13.
