New Member with Stock 1992 SE-R - Westlake, Ohio
I saw this SE-R in a parking lot in March of 2015. I spent about five minutes just checking it out and sent some pictures to my buddies because it looked like such a time machine. It did not have a for sale sign and I already had one extra car, so I did not leave a note.
About two weeks after selling my other car, I saw it on the road and ran it down. I asked the owner where she found a rust free SE-R and she replied that she was the original owner and getting ready to sell it. We pulled over into a neighborhood and she rolled her window down about two inches and we talked about the car. I mentioned that I thought I saw it back in March. She replied, "It was you." Someone else left her a note that I guy in a black van spent five minutes examining her car.
It took about a month to coordinate test drives and come to an agreement because she was so nervous. She cringed when I drove over a manhole cover during our test drive. Her late husband bought it new. It was never driven in the snow and always serviced at the dealership. I was able to talk to the mechanic that had worked on it to make sure there was no pending doom.
It had 70,000 miles, no rust, no oil leaks, and the R12 ac blows cold. The recirc/fresh switch is stuck in recirc, the speakers were blown, and the tires were ten years old, but it looks like a four year old car. I bought it in June of 2015 and have only put new tires on it (g-Force Super Sports), changed the rear speakers, and cleaned up the motor. I put about 1000 trouble free miles on it before winter.
