advise on sr
ive always been a 240 dude. but always had a major interest in the se-r model so after my 3rd 240sx i decided to go fwd and bought a b14 se-r with a sr20de from a 1999 g20 after asking around i found out that the sr in a 240sx is different from a fwd. After discovering that i feel like i have to start from scratch on my knowledge on sr's. Need your guys is help on creating a sick setup. Maybe just a push in the right direction such as a good reliable web-site.

First figure out if you want to go turbo or all motor. As a 240 owner I'm betting you will opt for turbo. From an engine stand point the rwd and fwd sr20s are the same. The HUGE difference is transmission options. Jump into the turbo section of this site and read a few build threads this should give you an idea of what you want based on budget. Good luck and welcome to the redheaded step child of the sr20 world.

Koo info.it's my first time in a forum so dnt really know how to navigate threw it.but I'm getting there.so does that mean that I can go to frsports and get any bolt ons and fit right in.from what I understand the fwd is a short block and rwd is a long block.and yeah I'm trying to go turbo plus vvl.

Longblock means and engine from the valve cover to the oil pan. Shortblock means the bottom end with rotating assembly only. Those terms are universal for any engine. FWD SRs have a distributor (for the most part), RWD SRs have coil on plug (for the most part). The distributor/CAS are also located on a different spot. Back of the head on FWD, on left-front side of the engine for RWD. Oil pans are different as well as intake manifolds (reversed) and a few other small things. If you want VVL, then everything on the head is essentially different. Otherwise cams, valve springs, etc are the same. VVL and roller rocker SRs have a 4 CW crank, the rest have 8 CW cranks like that of RWD SRs. They are interchangeable. You can get a few things from FRSport, but check out GSpec for more FWD oriented stuff. I'm sure I've left out some differences, but you get the idea.

Stock trans wont last long once you get over 250whp, gonna need a 70v trans or possibly do the 6 speed swap.

b13/14 trans = 32v is short for RS5F32V
B15/p11* trans = 70v short for RS5F70V

P11 is tricky (http://www.sr20-forum.com/general-sr20/66050-transmission-help.html#post889522)

B15/P11 tranny- why it's better than B13/B14 - SR20 Forum
