Trying this out with single platinum spark plugs.

Well I went for it. I just found this thread earlier today. I side gapped, and indexed my plugs to .36, and it runs much better. I had alot of missing below 3k. I found out my wires were bad so I replaced them about a week and a half ago. That got rid of most of it. Before that I replaced my my Iridium IX NGKs with a set of BKR6Es to see if it would help, but was the same. Since I did this today though it's running like a champ. Before this when decelerating in gear the exhaust note would sound real poppy and gargling. That is gone as well. This was by far one of the most worth while things I've done with my free time

Great to hear. I've been having pretty good luck myself. I think I will try try to down the gap though, it's at .044 side gapped, but the car runs fairly well still.

Hey that's good man. After a few days of driving it still feels good. 44 is the stock gap, so you're running that on a side gap? Thought you're supposed to take 10 off? With the 39 I'm running it's only 5 off, but I'm NA. I like mine where it's at. It feels awesome. You should try that.

Depending on your driving habits get your desired heat range. I Used the cheapo V-power plugs. Really if you side gap and index it makes any cheap plug perform way better. I used the BKR6E

Yup the article I read said to reduce it by 10. I'm experimenting though, the idea is to run the largest gap without blowout. I'm not boosted on my dd, so figured it would worth a shot .

VE uses a little different plugs from DE's, but externally they should be same as the DE ones thus should be side gappable.

Ya I got ya. The 39 I'm runnin works out great. It's only 5 more that suggested. I suppose if you run MSD you can really gap it out.

Did a test while on a roadtrip, my old BKR7E sidegapped plugs did 32mpg on a trip with main speed at 75mph. While the brand new BKR6E-N stock plugs did 28mpg at the same speeds.

Side gapped the new BKR6E-N's and got 32mpg too, and 34mpg at 70mph.

So how did it go with sidegapping the platinums? Worth it? I want to know which would be best for VE N/A with MSD in terms of side gap, gap and well, index (should be good for all).
