A long shot, but maybe @choaderboy2 wants to test? And/or do a review for MotoIQ of the final product?

Chances are he would berate it because it is "made in China" ......................................

EDIT: After speaking to Mike, he likes MFactory and uses there Diff in the Honda car.

Now, we need more plate people to step up!

Mike and I have similar views when it comes to stuff made in China. This product is moving our hobby and platform in the right direction with little-to-no unethical harm to competitors, so I doubt he'd be against it simply because it is made in China.

Contact him and find out what he thinks about it Judging by old searches through the old forum, he may or may not like it.

Quaife already makes the same type of unit, yes?

If you can't find anyone to do it I will take the first unit but testing will not be done until the track opens in March/April. I have my P11 trans apart doing the gear cuffs and I intend to use the same trans for the dyno and track.

I guess they do, (part number QDF6L) but it has been out of production for 5+ years. As long as MFactory isn't violating Quaife patents, there should be no issue.

Even if they are violating Quaife patents (and I'm not implying this by any means), if Quaife refuses to make the product and refuses to license the patent, then ethically it makes sense to violate their patent. Again, this is entirely conjecture for the sake of discussion.

Patents are designed to allow you to have a time-limited monopoly on the sale of a product to garner a profit on the design by selling it (or licensing the design to a 3rd party) with the understanding that the invention/design will be disclosed publicly (and usable by the public eventually). Stopping the sale of a patented product (or never selling the product in the first place) and preventing others from licensing the design patent is a corruption of patent law.

We'll find out, emails sent to Kojima and Quaife. I still prefer a plate-type/clutch-type LSD over Helical.... any interest?

c'mon guys.someone try this out. really W.G.A.F where its made, if it works, doesn't break (easily) and is nearly 1/2 the cost of the quaife. good enough for the honda guys. lets get it going.

Quaife will make a batch of 32a diffs if you get enough interest.
