If the factory PCV valve is not sealing, or not sealing for very long under boost then something needs to be done. I'm a bit skeptical though. I would love to see folks who've pressure tested new, used, and really old OEM PCV valves of all types on boosted engines to see what kind of quality we're dealing with.

I had some older OEM PCV that were metal, the latest craptastic replacements have been plastic. I don't think I am pressurizing my crank case through the PCV, but I will be tackling this project in the near future and was looking up options.

I was pressuring the cooling system (thru HG) but only under boost...now I'm wondering if it's because I didn't have a WOT restrictor in the intake? All other pressure tests indicated the HG as good...it was not.

99.999% your head gasket issues were not related to your PCV system at all. Having the worst PCV system in the world wouldn't cause head gasket issues.

Good! That makes me feel better...although makes me wonder about the Cometic MLS now - it was one of the first runs made. And I can't find a VE HG anywhere!

Hey Again

So i fitted the new rocker cover all good, but then spun a bearing! Rather than rebuilding I've sourced another motor, and have refreshed it, with new PCV valve, new rear main seal, and putting a new plenum and turbo manifold, with a high mount TD06

Also ordered a new Catch Can from Saikou Michi Co, despite having the rocker cover with baffles, more filtering wont hurt.

I jsut realised though, rather than plumbing it back into the air intake, why not plumb it into the intercooler piping? This might prevent the turbo getting oil on it if any managed to get through?

In this setup, would it be okay to drill two -10AN ports on the valve cover to a catch can and then two ports from the catch can to the intake or is that overkill?

Kind of like this:

You dont need two ports for the catch can to the intake, but 2 on the valve cover wont hurt I wouldn't think
