Tony.. You probably soldered the wrong wires together when fixing the radio harness. Check your radio harness wires for the illumination light, always-on wire (for saving your settings) and your ignition/acc-on main power wire. One of those wires is probably wired incorrectly.
I would start by
first testing the dimmer switch, and then I would cut each radio power wire (one by one) and testing if the dash lights return.

You have several problems.
First your headlights not working is probably caused by a bad Headlamp/Turning switch.

Your dash problems are probably a direct result of bad/burned-out junkyard parts. Try a known good dimmer switch from a friends car to isolate what is bad and then replace that part.
