Thread: Fast/SlowDoor Chime on Startup

Alright, I've got a question for y'all.

My door chime seems to be functioning properly (lights on, etc.) but when I start my car, it will always chime a few times. Sometimes it chimes slowly (the same speed as the "lights on" chime") and other times it will chime quickly (twice the speed, I think.)

I've tried to figure out what causes one or the other, but I haven't solved the case.

My current theories relate to either the clutch pedal switch (since the little bumper that presses the button is missing) or the seatbelts (since I swapped in B14 belts.)

I think I would prefer that it didn't sound on startup, but I don't think I can accomplish that without also losing my "lights on" etc. chimes.

I'm pretty sure it's related to the seatbelts.

If I start it up with the door open, it does the slow chime or the normal number of times (I didn't count.)

If I then close my door, it does the fast chime 8 times. I guess since the "automatic seatbelts" can be buckled with the doors open, it doesn't care about them until the door is closed.

I guess I need to figure out how to rig the connectors in the door to make it happy.
