How to: Sentra CY13F ZT50A 2009-2012 MP3 Ipod radio install and led color change
I thought I would share some info I found on the newer Nissan Sentra radios that I have been playing around with. I picked a couple up almost new condition for $35 each. They come in 2009-2012 Sentra's and only come in ugly ass orange display color. Also they are slightly shorter than the normal double din radio so there is a small space at the bottom using the P11 radio brackets. Thought it would be a nice upgrade from the stock Bose G20 radio.

The only 3 major problems that I have found are:

No working power antenna output - (at least not yet)
Illumination doesn't work - (figured a way around that)
Display and backlighting color sucks - (Fixed that also) 28 Blue 0603 SMT LED's / 10 pure white LED's (old 15" laptop backlight leds)

Options on CY13F (ZT50A)

Plays CD-MP3-CDR's
Has Ipod interface - Need multimedia box from donor car
Built in AUX on face
Has factory sub woofer interface
AM-FM of course
Amplified 4 channel output

CY13F or ZT50A top ID plate

The faceplate disassembled

The faceplate with LCD removed and white LEDs installed

The faceplate with partial blue replacement LED's

The faceplate with all LED's finished and power/select switch installed

Finished radio on bench

Illumination power to faceplate - Bottom side of main PCB

Orange LCD original LED backlights

Pure White LED's salvaged from 15" widescreen laptop screens installed on PCB

Before picture in dash - Orange

After picture in dash - White / Blue

Wiring info:

You will need the pigtail that plugs into the deck (Fleaby - $6)

Also two antenna adapters to plug together to adapt the new Nissan RF to the old Infiniti type antenna - (Fleabay $4 / $6)

It's good to have the car harness pigtail kit so you can wire it all together outside of the car and not hack up your dash harness (Fleabay $4)

Yeah, there aren't many Nissan factory single din radios that have the cool stuff.
