wiring multiple gauges question
So i've got around to getting my gauges mounted in place. Aem digital boost, oil pressure and wideband.

now I just need to wire them in. My question is what is the best place to get my 12V switched power source, I was reading through a thread where someone was trying to figure out how to wire there uego into their breakout box for nismotronic which i'll be doing with these and john had suggested to wire the power and ground into pin 38 and 39 which are the main power and ground for the ecu. Is it ok to splice and wire all the gauges to the same location for power? Thanks dave

I would splice into the stereo/cigarette lighter. I don't like messing with the ECU harness as much as possible. If something went wrong with the gauges you risk messing up the ECU.

yea my thoughts exactly about wiring to the ecu. Think there would be any issues wiring all 3 power wires to the same spot of the chosen power source? thanks dave

All three gauge power wires? No not at all, that should be fine. @speedricer actually did a badass job of the wiring on his, forgot where he posted it but its what I am going to emulate when I rewire mine.

Yes, he has a write up in the how to section but I beleieve his are mechanical gauges and mine are electric so abit different. I guess I could solder each power wire to each power wire and just have the one wire spliced into the 12v source?

Yes as long as you up the gauge(size) or the wire after the single point. And use each fuse per gauge.

Here is my write up. I got the eye from Jay who i think got it from Chriscar.

When I was digging around in my B13 I found a 4 or 6 harness plug hanging above the cigrette lighter plugs and under the FOG/Defrost..etc plugs. I looked it up in the FSM and IIRC it wasnt even labeled as anything specific. It was just some random extra plug and it has a power/ground and switch power. I'll try to find the page in the FSM showing the layout of it but you could use that without having to mess around with splicing into anything else. I used it for something myself.

For mine I used the switched 12v for the radio as my power..spliced right into aftermarket radio harness so none of the car's actual wiring was cut up
