Thank you so much bud. Actually I am doing 1.6 to 2.0 swap. And I got a non-lsd tranny and this VE engine from a japan importer. The engine has No maf, cut harness, plus the headache of that ECM.

We already installed the engine and tranny, and now the wiring goes. Our first attempt is to run the engine with the VE harness, VE box, ve maf and ve dizzy.

Sorry for the story. But thats the way it is.

The Thanks button is the yellow star in the top right hand corner above each post!

I see now, what you are doing. There are a few threads kicking around with details on the 1.6 to 2.0 VE swap. A few members here have done it recently. I don't know much about it. If it were me I'd be tempted to run a DE harness/MAF/dizzy but I imagine the VE combo would work as well. You should be able to run the VE harness as well with DE MAF, DE ECU and dizzy. The only issue is you would have to re-wire the harness for the DE dizzy and MAF. I am sure you have already looked into these scenarios, though.

Sounds like fun!

Clicked!

after fixing this cut ve harness, and successfully running everything in stock. I will move to the tunning part which needs DE harness, DE MAF, DE ECU, DE dizzy.

The only main reason why I need to run this on a stock form is because of the warranty given by the importer.

Do you think the JDM DE (A/T) harness which will do? How about the dizzy and ECM that came from that JDM DE (with A/T)?
A friend has all of this.

Again Thank you.

Honestly, I would stay away from the JDM DE stuff. I am not 100% sure about the sensors but my guess is that the JDM sensors for a DE are probably different than The USDM DE. If that is the case then you would have to order JDM DE sensors and ignition tune-up parts any time you need them. They would cost more and be harder to find. A USDM DE harness, dizzy, MAF and ECU could be had for around $175.

You could get the JDM stuff to work but I would definitely go the USDM route. It is just much less of a hassle. Also, if you wanted, you could get your USDM DE ECU chipped/tuned for a basic or real-time board. I think you would have MANY more options with the USDM ECU.

Thanks alot. I really prefer the USDM thing. Its just that i have an option on using the JDM stuff since the importer can give it me free.

By the way, I would like to confirm the difference of the USDM dizzy vs. JDM dizzy. Is that true that the JDM dizzy has an "internal" ignition coil? Thats why the plugs HTW is only 4 while the USDM has 5, as the fifth one is going to the external ignition coil.

if you have a smart phone get the barcode scanner app and it will google it for you and let you know.

HTW?

I am not sure as it depends what dizzy and year it is. I know the JDM VE dizzy is internal coil. Here is a bit of insight from Miko on USDM and JDM distributors.

Sorry to confused but what i mean of the 5th slot for the Hightension wire is the plug from the external ignition coil.

Can I conclude that all SR that comes with an internal ignition coil are all OBD2? And the SRs with external ignition coil are all OBD1? Thanks.
