Where are you guys grounding your CD players?

Im getting noise from mine and It didnt used to make noise. I havent had any type of audio in this car for years. So I cant remember, but where is the best place to ground from for the cd player?

I always ground my head unit to the brace that runs across the dash behind the stereo.

anywhere close to the player. you need to make sure you get metal to metal. Alot of people just put a bolt in and call it a day. You can't do that. You have to scrape the paint off then mount the bolt.

Also how are you connecting the player. Are you crimping? You get a lot of noise if you crimp the wires wrong/not good enough.

i cant seem to understand this issue either.....i have similar noise interference....i havent checked anything because i mainly use the cd or mp3 player but is the grounding what would be the cause of this? i just thought maybe i didnt plug the antenna in completely.

My first one was a 96 SE-R and it used to do this and I bought it off-lease w/ 7500 miles.

People used to tell me it had something to do with the ignition wires.

If you hear a Wine, one of two issues.

You have interfearence from a power source that is laying on your input cable for audio. Since you are using just a cd player and no amp, that is not the case.

The other, is if you don't have a good ground. Most Nissans have the ground cable built into the antenna. Soon as your antenna is plugged in, you have power to your CD player. Their should be a vein on the antenna cable in which is the ground and you can cut that off and move the ground to the harness instead of the antenna in. I believe the best ground you can get, is the ground going to the battery Negative terminal if you don't want to try and find a bold and peal paint for a custom ground.

I am using an amp installed in the trunck.....the interference i seem to be hearing is actually the exhaust through the radio...lol....i installed everything myself and everything else works great but the radio....some channels work better then others and some channels work better at times then others.....

I'm grounded to the metal harness that holds my cd player in with no interference.
