Everything is now exposed and unwrapped. Tomorrow I'm going to check all the connections and re-wrap them.

Here is where the aforementioned purple wire led to, not sure why it was cut. :?

Does anybody know what this relay is for? It's part of the gauge wiring and doesn't have a Nissan logo on it like the other relays.

For clarification, this is the TCM, right? I ask because the only legible letters are MT.

Here is where its from.

Well, after rewrapping everything and covering any raw wires I got everything to work with the interior still torn apart. Unfortunately once I put it all back together nothing works again. VERY frustrating...

I recognize the bundle the purple wire goes to. I am pretty sure those were from some dealer install foglights.

No idea what that relay is for. You might be able to figure out by trial/error. I also don't know what that box is. I left it alone for that reason.

Did you do anything specifically to get it working? Or did it just work after the rewrap? In all honesty it might be worth pulling the entire harness and laying it out for a check and clean up. I have a feeling there have been about 100 changes to it in its lifetime. I've got the FSM if you don't (though I assume you do) for diagrams. It's not as convoluted as I thought it would be with the exception of the fusebox/SMJ area.

In fact, I might try to look at the FSM for awhile at work tomorrow out of boredom to see if I can come up with anything useful.

I know you said you've checked all your fueses, but check the main fuses in the engine bay that are near/around the battery. remove, inspect VERY closely the link, especially in the ones that have a clear window in the top (assuimng the USDM stuff is similar to the AUDM stuff).

I've found the main "battery" fuse, usually big like 70A or something, can SOMETIMES get a hairline fracture in it and revving the motorcauses vibrations that get it to temporarily make contact and spark (which kind of 'welds' it) then as soon as any load goes on it, like fan, lights etc it will heat up and break apart again. The crack was so small it was almost impossible to see and was easier to see when the fuse was removed as the terminals in the bottom weren't holding it together anymore.

Its a long shot but worth a try because it was surely a frustrating problem when i had it!

After I'd disassembled the interior, I checked all of Dan's connections (still good!) and just taped everything back up and covered any raw wires. I then plugged in the gauges and all the other plugs without assembling anything. I then turned on the accessory power (not starting the car) and everything worked, even the radiator fan! But once putting it all back together, nada.

There are a couple of uncut harnesses floating around here locally I might pick up if I have to.
