Thread: After Market Head Unit Thread

Pioneer is the only way to go.

That Pioneer DEH-P4900ib looks really nice, especially for the price. I've been considering buying a new HU because it would be nice to have a unit with 3 sets of 4v pre-amp outputs. Plus, the iPod control is cool.

Yea I forgot to mention I actually do now have the DEH-P4900ib. I *had* the DEH-P5900MP which is very similar to what Don posted (but not the "upscale" Pioneer Premier line) with the external iPod adapter but was too pokey for me.

The head unit that I have is the one that it came with, and it sucks ass... Its all beat up and the buttons looks like they have been chewed on. I want to get a new one, but I also want to relocate it to the lower din and have gauges in the upper din.

I want something that will be easy to use, especially down low (lower din)

Gspec sells the bracket that you need to have the deck in the lower din correct?

You can somewhat see it. Its crap. It came with the car...

But I got a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X491 scheduled to arrive tomorrow



I needed some bass control to go with the two 10" MTX's

Visually, I like the Dual. But the Kenwood certainly out functions it.
