FYI.. bolt though grounds always give you the best results. So don't just use a self taping screw. Bolt that sucker down nice and tight tight!

I wasnt being sarcastic, just trying to help.

It is simple to go through the firewall.I wasnt saying the $ was an issue,I just thought it was silly to not run the power all the way while your panels are off to run the rca.

Either that or just get a nice FIRE EXTINGUISHER

Why not just spend a few dollars and a few minutes to do it right?
I know times are tough, but jeez
Go to walmart and get an amp install kit for less than 20 dollars. It will come with everything you need, including the RCA wire.

yeah you know better than to drop off in this section,, installers get NO love here when proper advice is handed out.

I stop trying to help because it did'nt matter if I posted pics of the install or wiring of the radio/amp kit/sub. or anything.. there are a few members on here that just insist on arguing facts over intelligents in the aftermarket electronics. everyones preference on brands of electronics are there own decision.. and if you go back and read some of the advice on not this thread in particular there are some dumb things going on around here thats for sure!

anyway doing it the right way is priceless and doing it wrong can be substancal in my book... good advice Eggman!! I've seen your wiring and stereo set ups and it has always looked and sounded good! keep up the good work!

I just know what a pain in the ass it is to run stuff through the firewall on this car. Now that I know the wisdom that's what I'll do.

I'm sorry but from reading this thread from the begining it looks like you trying to take shorts cuts from anywhere to avoid a little more time on doing the install the right way..

what Eggman was trying to do was give you the right advise to start with to help you to not have problems later on...

if you think running an 8g wire through the fire wall is a pain in the butt you should try running 0g through out a B13 .. haha now thats No joke!

again ,,, this is very good advise on finding the right ground.

this is what I did

grind off any paint so you have a good metal to metal connection.. I'm using the seat belt bolt,, had to grind the paint off the seat belt peice as well

I don't think he was being sarcastic brother... And you don't have to do it though the firewall really. You can do it into the fender wheel well also.

No worries man. Just trying to save you some time and money down the road. We are just all here to help in the best way in order to get the best results for you.

this is the risk of running your power wire through the door,, because of opening and closing the door it may rub on the wire itself and over time it could cause metal to wire connection ,,, end result could BE...

and this happen in a matter of seconds not minutes... yes you can still run the wire through the door and never have this problem but tell this guy that!!

I would run it through the firewall even if it meant to drill a small hole and put a rubber gromet around the power wire but thats up to you....

good luck with your install,,,, just trying to help...

Yup i had friends back in the day that used to do things ghetto like that. 1 person fried out all the wiring when he shut his hood, luckily the wire caught on fire and not the car itself.

Oh yeah how slim is the sub inclosure you have? From what i remember the 240's seats sit very low.

did you get the 8 or 10 inch? i have the 10 inch and i LOVE IT! i used to have a DVC 12inch JBL in a seal box with 400rms. i never used even a 1/4 of the power because i mostly listen to metal nothing bass heavy. it gives just the right "kick" for the bass drums.......absolutly perfect.

anywho hooking it up is very simple.

-power comes from the battery
-ground, i suggest putting a large ring terminal on the ground cable and grounding to a seat track bolt.
- the remote is simply a trigger for the relay. wire this to the blue wire on your head unit or any power source that only gets power when the key is on. when you turn your car off the sub will be 100% off.

word of advice, tune the sub litely. remember this is a small sub with not alot of air space in that enclosure.............so if you get to triger happy with the bass boost or gain and it will start clipping.
