Msd Digital 6+ W/blaster Coil And B15 Distributor
Hi I have a 99 Sentra SE with a sr20ve motor but I'm using a b15 distributor on the ve motor. I was wondering if modifying the b15 distributor is the same as how the modification on the b14 distributor is on the JWT website. I haven't opened up the dizzy yet to see if they're similar or not.

The mod I found on the jwt website is found here http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/DISTRIBUTOR%20SR%20KA%20CONV%20INT%20TRANSISTER%20WIRE%20FOR%20MSD.PDF

Thanks for any input

Ok so it turns out that the b15 and b14 look the same on the inside for the wiring mod on the jwt website. I did the mod and have the wire out.

Power leads
Heavy Black & Red go to battery.

Coil + is Orange from the MSD Plus box is going to the positive on the MSD Blaster SS Coil.
Coil - is Black from the MSD Plus box and is going to the negative on the MSD Blaster SS Coil.

I cut the smaller harness going to the dizzy and I believe I'm supposed to wire the red/black wire to the small Red wire from the MSD Plus box and wire the solid Green wire to the small White wire from the MSD Plus box.

So the external trigger wire I made from the dizzy goes to the blaster coil or do I splice it with the White wire from the MSD Plus box?

Hope this is clear.

This is on a B14.

This does not answer your question but I have a question for you. I have intentions of doing the exact same set up as you on my VE in my B14. What are you doing to cancel out the stock coil from the equation. I took apart a VE distributor and with that distributor you can remove the entire coil. I am pretty sure the same can be done with the B15 distributor. RTV is all that holds them together other then the screws.

Well I just basically wired it up according to the JWT instructions but I ended up not wiring the blaster coil because I have to add the coil tower to the b15 distributor which can also be done with the VE. I'm planning on adding the tower so I can run a ignition wire from the blaster coil to the B15 distributor. It'd be easier if it was just a b13 distributor that already has the external coil tower for the spark. Hope that answers your question.

You can use an external coil if you modify the cap and add a external tower. I'm not sure how to do it myself but my friend said he can do it. I just need to buy the coil tower adapter part #8803 from msd. Here's a link MSD Ignition 8803 - MSD Coil Power Tower Adapters - Overview - SummitRacing.com

If you are running and msd 6 box the coil will work fine you just need to wire it through the box. If you are not using an msd 6 box then you can wire the coil directly through your ignition wires going to your old coil you just need to wire in a resistor. I ran this on my car and it made no difference in ignition so I took it off.
