Thread: 96 vs 99 Under dash harness

My under dash harness has been hacked up pretty badly and now I have a short somewhere that will probably take for ever to find so I plan to just swap out my old wiring and swap in a new harness. My ? is will a under dash harness from a 99 SE-L work in a 96?? I know the 98-99 ecu are different but I'm not certain about the under dash harness and the 2 plugs that attach to it that come off of the engine harness. Anyone ever checked this out?????

try to avoid a 98 harness at all cost, unless you have a 98!!!

in my case i have a 98 sentra that i hacked the dash harness in a bit of rage now i just need a dash harness so i can splice in the vq plugs and finish my swap
could i use a dash harness from 95-98 ?

I do not think the pre-98 harness will work in a 98+ B14. There are many suttle differences in the two model years, like door locks, windows, etc.

thing is that
the car is completly gutted. no ac no heat.
i just need the harness to clip into the the SMJ and the clips for the door locks..
oh and windows.

Just re-wire it to what you need it to be.

Okay, you need a 98+ Harness. 95-97 used a different harness under the dash.

You could always re-splice the connections you hacked out of it. Just match color to color. Not that hard really, nothing like MILSPEC

i was annoyed at the swap and my ex pissed me off and i just started cutting **** it looks like i hienna (spellin) took a go at it lol
