Well lets get some clarification first....

Do you know what year and model Audi did he get the tranny and rear end from? Once we know that the next step will be to research the gear ratio for that particular tranny then calculate the mph per each gear.....

Is there anyway this person can sign up to the forum and share with us some valid information?

The person who owns the car now didn't build it. He knows just as little as us. We think the running gear is from an early 220bhp 1.8T Audi TT.

From 2001-2006 1.8T 225hp quattro W/6sp manual.....the main thing is finding out the transmission code for each year to see if they are the same; trust me i own an Audi and it is a pita when it comes to locating the right parts w/o knowing the engine and tranny code

Not to knock on any of these creative ideas to find a transmission to hold up to power, but you have to look at several scenarios.

#1 It seems like the Audi gearbox can be made to work. But how much power can it handle? I mean the guy running it was trapping 118mph. That means its not making alot of power. Maybe high 400's low 500's maybe. Or it could be the gearing could be totally wrong for the setup. Then you have to look into transfer case issues.

#2 The EVO trans is a good alternative. There transfer case is strong, but the gear sets are just as weak. Remember alot of these engineers built these factory transmissions for only slightly more than what factory pushes out. Alot of the big name racers, guaranteed are running aftermarket gearsets.

Our Pulsar is running a PPG helical dog set. Not PAR. We know of another person that is running the PAR gearset and they have had the same problem. Its these hard AWD launches and power that are ruining these things. Only testing, r/d, and racing will we ever find a solution to these issues.

tru, but from what i understood, that pulsar ran a 11.6 with a factory engine? up'd boost im assuming.... now i can verify that kind of speed, i beat a 12.4 car, with my factory setup, non launching, with top mount, t28 @18psi, 444's, etc.... Stock! but i would never launch this trans, and if i were to, and would be able to put down my power, id be faster, right? but this is all speculations.... i dyno'd 265awhp, factory setup @18psi, and @8psi it dyno'd 192awhp... Mazworx i know you guys know your stuff, and the only reason you guys haven't touched my R, is bc $$$$$ but i think the Rnn14 drive train is weak, PROVEN many hundreds of times to be weak, for many years, its time to look into something else....

That is exactly what this car is for, testing. The car is probably only running around 320bhp, internally standard pulsar engine with the boost around 1.2 bar. Anything under 12 seconds is good for a relatively standard GTI-R.
