SE R Madness:
To each his own, I guess. I think it's a great car for the money. The 911 has always been a benchmark for sportscars. Not many cars can hang with it on the track. The viper and the corvette are the 2 that stick out in my memory of watching ALS races. But, even then, the 911s in that circuit are rear wheel drive. All wheel drive does everything better. Anyway, You're right about this all being an opinion. I'm kindof a techie and I like my electronic toys sometimes. I guess that's what drew me to the GT-R in the first place. It, as Jeremy Clarkson said, uses computers to sort everything out for you. You still get to drive the piss out of it and feel everything going on, it just saves you when your talent runs out. Cool, in my book. I'm with you, though, about wanting to see this on the track with other cars. That would be the true test. Can't wait to see it!

Haha, at first I thought "Wow, that REALLY looks like the front of an EVO... oh wait..."

I agree this car is great for the money... BUT.. power to weight sucks. The car needs Slim Fast a.s.a.p.

I'm just waiting to see what follows as soon as it hit the showroom floor. Three weeks later there will be recalls on the motor blowing up.

yea how does a 2 door coupe suddenly weigh 1700KG?! but still quicker to 60 than a 911 turbo, likely to go round a track faster than a corvette. Loads of tunability built into the engine (AFAIK its a detuned 3.8 Leman's race engine) so we might see some Nismo versions pushing 500bhp+

Re the SR20 ya it was good but there are a lot of 2.0's running 150bhp plus these days, it gets tough to compete, i mean hell the Pug 206 GTI 180 pushes 180bhp, the Carolla 1.8 T Sport gives 182BHP from a 1.8i, the Clio 182 will run away from an SR20 no probs, Citroen uses the 167bhp motor from the Pug GTi6 in the Xsara VTS. Thats before we even get onto Ford Focus 2.0's and Honda's with |Vtec| etc...

the real testamonial of an Sr20 is that so many are still running, that they could make a reliable boosted version of it, and that they could even fit a VVL head to it and compete, if they had "wanted" too.

I personally do not see that much 350z in it. For those that do, like yourself, I'm saying there are worse cars that it could look like.
