Cliff, I dont have time to read the whole thread to see if someone already said this. But chances are if your temp gauge is fluctuating, then the single wire plug connected to your coolant temp sensor is probably loose. Wiggle it around and see if it moves quite a bit.

Thanks Jerm.

I checked the sensor plug as soon as I saw it was fluctuating, and it was really clean and tight. It actually took a bit of grip to pull it off, and put it back in.

As I said before, I do have a CTS and sender sitting in another manifold. Just don't recall if the 95~97 CTS is that different from the 98 that's installed. Guess it shouldn't hurt considering I'm using the 95~97 ECU. I'll swap them both out just for the sake of swapping them out.

The single wire will be the same through all of the years. So the plug that's on the prong of the sender is tight? Is the prong loose on the sender at all?
