I installed a new clutch and used transmission a few years ago and even with a new 2.0 cable, I needed adjustment. So the bracket is just the same as drilling

You need this:

Look at the cable bracket. Its modified. Some sort of bracket that keeps that part from flexing like you were talking about. Refresh the page, I circled it in red.

I'm not sure who was doing it. I found the picture on someones thread a while back and saved it for a swap time project. Just happened to come in handy for this thread I thought, so I shared it.

^That pic in post # 11 came from this thread. Did Miko do the bracket for this guy? I guess we could just ask sniper571

^What did you use to lube it?

sniper571 got that trans from Miko with the bracket. it was made clear in a thread titled "trans saver bracket" the bracket is nice, since I'm converting to hydro pedals I won't need mine anymore.

I used Lucas X-TRA Heavy Duty Grease on my car.

well i dont get how that is supposed to save the trans but hey i can see how that would allow you to move the bracket out without it bending, and to think ive heard of this trans saver bracket but never got to see it, didnt really bother, i would have thought it was something that would keep the back side of the trans near the passenger axle from breaking and cracking the case like many have done, i would think if someone made a nice steel plate that linked all three bolt holes on the trans and the two 17mm holes on the block then put the back mount bracket on i would think that would save the trans, i have yet to do it but it would be pretty cool and interesting to see. It would distribute all the force into the plate not the brittle case allowing no flex for the case to crack. it would just rest on the plate and mount bracket combined.
