Got a problem here.
Hey mates , i've got a problem here and i think it might be a hard one (for me at least)

since i bought my 99xe about a month ago i've been getting a noise from the front driver side hub area, at first it was like a whOmwhOMwhOm noise which accelerated following the vehicle speed

now , i know for one thing that the discs are not "crooked" cause it's ok when i brake altough it still makes the noise , braking doesnt get's it louder

second, i think it might be the wheel bearing but i dont know why , cause i've never seen a wheel bearing fail

another caracteristic of the problem is that i get a slight thumping noise just like i had a ripped tire flat you know like a part of the tire kinda smacked the ground at the same rithym as the whOmwhOMwhOm noise

it's stock , ga16 no mods concerning wheel area

i did swap out the ball joint and tie rod end on the passenger side and forgot to do an alignement

another thing i've noticed which is quite odd i think is that when i brake hard on dry non slipery surface , the car then to turn to the right while when i accelerate it tend to the left very harshly

of course nothing that cant be controlled from the steering wheel but you know it better be neutral

Any info apreciated:o

thank you all mates

Jack up the car, and try to wiggle the wheel. If it moves your wheel bearing is shot. And yes they do wear, anything that moves wears away.(Also check to make sure the axle bolt is tight).

The braking thing almost seems like a bad caliper! The noise sounds like a wheel bearing. Did they start happening at the same time?

thanks for the quick resposne i'll try that tommorow morning

but if the wheels wiggle wouldn't that indicate a worn out ball joint?

A bad ball joint would make a "clunk" sound when you turn too.
