Quick question about S4 intake cam!?
Well I was wondering if I could use an S4 intake cam with the stock exhaust
cam that comes on my 98' SE-R?! What would the gains roughly be and
would I run into any problems? Thanks

well the thing is. you are opening up the intake flow but not the exhaust flow, so technically you are going to be choking off the ability to expell the flow of intake out of the exhaust.

i dont think you would run into problems persay...but it would be a waste of a camshaft beucase you arent equally expelling the air youare intaking out of the exhaust.

thats just my take

It doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Stock cams for a 98 are **** to begin with. I think it's just gonna make it that much more obvious if you put an S4 intake cam in. Just put both a S4 intake and exhaust cam in it. You won't regret it. When I had my Sr20de they really made it come alive.

Waste of time. Go with a 91 Intake cam, and leave the 98 Exhaust cam installed. Cheap and very effective gains, if you're only looking to replace one cam.

Thanks, because someone was just selling an S4 intake cam and I wasn't sure what the
outcome would be. So I'll just stick to my 91' cam!

I have a custom regrind intake cam in my car, 264 duration. And noticed a big power difference. been running it for 1000+miles now with a lot of WOT and no problems at all and has a small lope sound coming from my exhaust
