I got some new Goodies..Important D2 info inside
Well I figured I would keep everybody up to speed on whats going on with the NX lately. I am getting all new struts for the D2 coilovers, after reading around and discussing with D2 USA about the redesigns etc. Supposedly the valving has changed and overall build quality has improved. Anyways, after a little bit of a misunderstanding and finally getting the right struts, here are what they look like.



The new rear strut design is on the left, the new front design in the middle, and the old all four corner design is on the right. The new fronts are 453mm length struts, and the rears are 549mm struts. I was originally sent an "older" "B series" D2 struts for the rear which were also for the B14 rear as well ( I will call D2 out on that mistake, the strut was less than 9 inches overall.) Now I have what is standard for the B13 chassis, C's up front, and D's for the rear ( Letter coding for all the different strut types they offer).

Anyways, My first impressions is of course they look much nicer, but overall i really think the build quality has been improved greatly. I am eager to see what the ride quality will be like. I plan on raising the car quite a bit, I am told that these will allow me to sit at stock height or possibly go higher. I also have new pillowball mounts to go up front as well. I will be following up after these are installed and set up correctly with new impressions. I am not getting my hopes up for similar ride characteristics of Tien SS's ( where they can go from lincoln ride quality to as stiff as my struts). But since the valving has been revamped i am interested to see how they will ride. Who knows, they may be so stiff the seam welds in the chassis could break.. ha. I doubt it though.
