Thread: Englishtown Raceway Park - Sign the petition ( No More DRAG Racing )

Come on people sign this, This is crazy. I grew up racing at raceway park my son loves going there
and I have made so many friends over the years.. I didn't make this but id love to help not sure if
it will make much of a difference but it cannot hurt.

I am saddened by this news today, Something fishy is going on the events are still posted and it happened out of the blue.

Are they closing for good?

I also have raced @ englishtown more than anywhere else. I even met you, Daryl there for the first time when you and I had the only 98 Sentra SE's, yours white and mine black In fact, it's the very first place I ever did drag race circa 2000.

since the chat box has killed content and viewership here, you are probably better off posting this on the SR20 Facebook pages.

Quick, are they not profitable anymore? Because I assume people voted with their dollars over the last few years. Everyone complaining (seen a lot on Facebook) should have actually gone there more?

Strorm, are you suggesting we get rid of the chat feature here? If people are following the rules for chat, it shouldn't cannibalize threads/post much...

If people liked it so much, why didn't they go there and pay to view races more often to stop the place from closing?

Chat box did not ruin forum, a litany of other reasons did. Do not blame the one device that has helped so many people since the inception of the device. Ben is fixing all of the old problems and fixing new ones as he encounters them. Many apologies from the forum staff for not fitting everything into the time frame of others. He, we are trying to make the forum better.

If it were not for chat box, Chappy would be taking advantage of poor Andrew in Canada.
Carlos, from Chile, may have not been able to get his car running in a few weeks, rather than wait for months for parts since no one will ship to South America it appears.
These are a few of the more extremely beneficial instances where the chat box benefit people in the SR20-world.

If those people dislike the chat box so much, why does everyone that uses the chat feature see consistent log-ins often?

Lastly, been to a few drag racing places in NJ, and this Englishtown was my least favorite, YMMV. Everyone will always have memories.

I was never to Englishtown, not with Maple Grove right in the backyard.

Kyle - Englishtown was awesome. Don't know when you went but I loved it.

Ben - you yourself admitted in the chat box it's killed forum content a few days ago. I spoke of this matter 2 years ago.

The functionality of chat can be accomplished via pm's or good old fashioned texting, it is of no benefit to the forum. Prior to the chat function, issues were solved via forum threads, as it should be. Just my two cents.

If you dont like it dont use it, but dont for one minute try to blame the chat box, it was fucking facebook that killed thw forums (not just ours) i post everything i do in my threads for others to see and i reply to threads that i think i could help in.. and same goes for the rest of the chat box guys.

Fixed the OP link to display correctly. Signed the petition to try and save the place. Keep motorsports around for well past when we are gone!
