Permanently blocking large vacuum port?
Hey,

I have a large (3/4") vacuum port on my TB I need to block off. I've tried using the rubber block offs, but they crack over time and start leaking. Any ideas how to permanently seal this?? Needs to withstand 20+psi of boost. Would something like a freeze plug work? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Weld it shut.

I'd weld it if I could, want to keep that as last resort.

Is the port threaded or smooth?

If it's a smooth hole, get an aluminum plug a tiny bit oversize, like .001", get the plug really cold, and the TB nice and toasty, and then tap it in the hole.

Likewise you could also thread the hole with the nearest tap size.

If there's a thread, in the hole, find the equivalent threaded plug

If you want it to be reversible, just use a short piece of hose and block the other end. You should be able to find something solid around the same size to stick in there, a marker cap or whatever. Use a small worm clamp on both ends and it should take as much boost as you can throw at it.
