GI: PRL Motorsports VVL Billet Intake Manifold FWD Version

PRL Billet Intake Manifold Plenum

PRL a shop known for offering VVL head swap package offers a billet VVL intake plenum for $699. However like most of our options it's designed for rwd configurations. Flipping the plenum has always been an option for xcessive and most other design options, but on this one not so much. The throttle body flange is pretty far off for a fwd config. It could potentially work, but I wouldn't say it's practical.

Now talking with them they're willing to weld the flange at a better angle for no extra cost and no necessary group buy. However I'm interested in having them modify their cnc program to make the manifold where the ports and iacv are actually underneath with our fwd iac flange. That's where the interest of you guys come in as that takes extra development and re-design to make the part.

What we need is a small number of guys (~5) seriously interested to pass the idea off for a potential group buy on the initial batch. Details will follow in a group buy if an agreement between the company can be made.

*I may be a little inaccurate on the interest scale, correct me if I'm wrong some of it's assumed*

Putting your name on this list in no way obligates you to purchasing the product. However, I'll use it to keep in contact with the most up to date info. Just let me know your potential interest(definite, moderate, passive(not a initial buyer)) so I can gauge accordingly.

If it can be confirmed that the plate has enough meat to suit removing the reverse taper from the stock 20ve runners I'm in.

Enough space for thermoblock spacers? Please make sure of that too!

Can you explain more thoroughly what you mean by the reverse taper? I saw you ask about it on facebook, but I didn't have a chance to figure out what you mean. The plate is o ringed to the runner and would not be possible to port any further. It could possibly redesigned considering both rwd and fwd guys will benefit having the option to further port the runners.

I can't possibly seeing any issues, plenty of clearance from the firewall and brake booster.

i'd say this is what he's referring to. this is a alternative to your intake, the xcessive plenum for sr20ve runners. this particular one, like most others, has a fair bit of floor and runner porting done to it to improve the flow. its done mainly by the n/a guys to improve airflow into the head, as its a known restriction point in the standard manifold. others have cut the oem manifold and run 50/52/52+mm runners to improve this.
