Well that scares me some. I hope it's just me and some quirks and nothing more serious.

Cause if it isn't, it's going to be a pita to try to drive around (town especially) without causing a wreck or something

Try revving higher

Guess it's worth a try, but believe (too busy with all the other stuff going on to pay a lot of attention to it) I was shifting this last test run at about 4k-4.5... need to try to pay more attention but trying (really hard) to listen for any noises and such.

put it in first before reverse and it usually help make it go right in. It kinda aligns it somehow. Some times even in first just slightly engage for a sec(like just as you feel it start to move) then reverse.

Move the ball up on the stock shifer for a FREE shortshifter that compares to or is even better in my opinion than most aftermarket ones.

I can make you one or you can PM if you want some help

That's weird, these trannys are bizarre. I'll give that a try next time thanks

That might be a good alternative for me as I just can't seem to get the feel of this one.
Going to send you a PM.

Start by making sure the clutch cable is adjusted properly (if you haven't already done that). You should have between 7/16" and 5/8" pedal freeplay. Make sure the throwout bearing also has some freeplay - about 1/8". Install the poly shifter rod bushing for more stiffness. Put Redline MT90 oil in the tranny. Finally, search the forum for a procedure to stiffen up the bushing on the shifter mechanism. The MT90, after awhile, will make the synchro's shift like butter on a hot knife.

I will re-check my cable & the throwout bearing. Thank you
I am using Amsoil MTG and have replaced the shifter bushing with an ES swaybar bushing (probably should've said this in the 1st post).

on my old b13 before I rebuilt the trans here was the issue. I'd pull up and want to go reverse and it would grind. I learned that I always had to put it into 5th then shift it into reverse. Had to do with no syncros in the reverse gear that didn't allow anything to align until I aligned 5th first. it was weird.
