Paid a USD $30 packaging fee (was told to this was to pay UPS for packaging) plus USD $30 transport fee.

I'm honestly just really happy I got it at this point. Thanks much

Nowhere did I say money was for ups packaging. I don't trust them with that stuff. Bubble wrap vs anti fatigue mats are no comparasin. Further, the $30 was for my time and gas, which if you feel that's unfair, tell me how much you think your time is worth an hour
...my trip plus getting your rim in a city 20km each way plus driving 3 hours plus crossing the border for $30? Favours never come that cheap. Pretty ticked you weren't pleased given I shipped a rim across the damn country.

There was anti fatigue mats inside thick cardboard. I bought shrink wrap and wrapped the rim inside the mats inside the box, I used a whole roll of packing tape plus bought fragile tape to top it all off. Shipping was exactly what I told you at $21, no surprises. Can't do more than that.

that would be well over $100 by my math and average hourly rate. $30 is cheap, and would barely cover gas and snacks for that trip.

I'm not going to say I didn't benefit from it, I did pick up a package feom where in the states I mailed it from, so it wasn't all for Chris101 but 'I'm just happy I have it' was a little less than I was expecting.

I honestly really didn't mind the $30 canx2k wanted for fuel and time... It was the additional $30 for UPS packaging that was out of the ordinary to me. I've just never in my life charged anyone $30 for 'packaging' is all.

I wish I would have kept that PM now where canx2k told me $30 additional was to cover paying UPS for packaging.

canx2k also made me wait several weeks because he had bought something (a swaybar) he had shipped to that location in USA that he had to go pick up anyway so all in all it was $60 USD in total plus some extra due to the exchange rate with the Canadian dollar being worth 77cents on the US dollar.

I guess I just felt if $30 was paying for fuel and then he made be wait because he had to go pick up something and go there anyway, it suddenly made the additional $30 for packaging taking even more advantage of the situation.

I guess this is the difference between you and me and the unfortunate misunderstanding in this entire situation. There are 2 viewpoints to everything of course. If I had to go somewhere anyway I would have said, 'hey, your in luck because I have go pick up something there but are you okay waiting because it will be a few weeks before I can ship?' I was told after payment was made about the additional wait due to having to go there anyway and I had made an initial false assumption on my part that this would get shipped within a few days of payment so I didn't have to miss out on track time not having my rain tires (what the 1 wheel was replacing was to complete my set of rain wheels/tires again). By the time the wheel finally got shipped, my season was over. ..thus the 'happy to finally have it' came into play.

Here's the breakdown so we're clear. $30 time and gas. $30 shipping ($21 for ups and 9, though I spent more than 9, on packing) $60 rim Canadian but you said keep whatever I didn't spend and gave $60 USD (oooo a whole $12 Canadian), and you gave me $15 on top for any additional expenses. $135 total. You didn't give me a timeline and didn't tell me what it was for other than to fix a rim buddy dented for you. And what's this about making you wait several weeks? Try paid on the 10th, got on the 26th. In my count 16 days isn't several weeks. No matter how you dice it, consider this done. Canada border is closed for favours from me for anyone.

^ no worries and hopefully you aren't expecting me to get you those parts you needed either.

Like I said, assumptions were made I shouldn't have obviously (because I'm the person that ships right away within 3 days max unless its clear up front before I take payment)

I honestly figured once you told me about waiting until you were getting something else shipped to you in USA that there was no point 'complaining' or pointing out how this wasn't what I was expecting for the $30 fee for fuel but whatever, its done and over like you said and I have no interest in asking anyone in Canada for favors at this point and no interest in shipping anything to you in Canada either obviously.

If another one of these stupid wheels get damaged, I'm just buying 2 other wheels in the future and have a mismatched set instead of going to the only place apparently left that still has them....
