Okay, I agree rear seats look nice, and I do currently have them back there, and it'd keep the drone down on my drives to and from the track, the simple fact remains that I need to put my gear and tires back there, and I'm not about to unbolt the cross and diagonal bars to load/unload the car, and I'm not going to pull the seats for the days when I'll be trackin' it.

I suppose an option may be to get the 94 Special Ed rear fold down seats, but they won't match the upholstery, and I'll loose a lot of height on the rear seats for stackin' stuff.

Well I guess thats true, but you don't have to "bolt" them in. I don't know if B13 seats work the same as 240sx seats do, but in my hatchback I was too lazy to bolt them back in so I just clicked them in at the top part (where the latch is to fold them down) and didnt bolt them at the hinges, and for the bottom part of the seat it just sits there.

Total time to remove them : 20 seconds

But again, I don't know if B13 and 240sx rear seats work the same way.

the bottom part of the seat comes out in 2 seconds
just pull the 2 tabs forward and slide back

I'm trying sculpted foam with cloth that matches the interior (or Alcantara :-P) and then placing some rubbermaid tubs or something similar to form plastic bins much like an RX7 and covering the lids in the same manner as to keep the finish consistent while keeping easy removal via pull tabs that go to the velcro.

I figure it will help quench more of the general noise from the rear when on the street vs. aluminum sheet as well as it offers out-of-sight storage in the cabin. It should weigh about the same plus the bonus is it doesn't draw too much attention if I park it or get pulled over.

If I opt to use a cheaper material it should cost less than the aluminum and it can be shaped to hold anything like a tool box or even a helmet

I've been partial to stretching fleece, and creating a basic fiberglass shell, and covering that in a nice black cotton. it's light, and looks good, but it can be messy.. I think when my taxes come back, and with financial aid, i'll be debt free, and start saving up for an se-r, and build a nice little street terror...

or i'll buy a really comfortable car.. i'm not sure.

This is all true, but then you have to contort the whole mess out through the jungle of bars - MAJOR PITA.

If you have the money buy a big CF sheet and make some pannels. Expensive..but it would look alot better than sheet metal IMO.

Not with all of the metal birdcage in there. When I powder the cage, I don't want it to get all scratched up. Of course I COULD just take the frame out altogether and have a sponge facade. Hmm... Interesting. That just might be good enough.
