Can't say I've had this issue before. Normally a large bottle cap from a coolant jug works great.

I used a 1/4 cup measuring cup on mine for a long time. It was the perfect shape and had the handle to seat against.
When I needed a port for intake air temp, I cut a hole in the bottom of the cup and was good to go there too.

yeah the antifreeze jug lids seem to work pretty good, i usually put rtv around them before putting them in an then clamp em down, but the gatorade ones work well too..

lol @BenFenner for the salt shaker! :P

I was about to post that! That's what I used, until a buddy who's a machinist made a nice, machined metal part for a plug.

And you can stop and bake cookies on the manifold on the side of the road...bonus!
