the quality of optima batteries has gone to crap. don't waste your money. imo the best lead/acid battery on the market right now is autozone's duralast gold. its has a 3 year free replacement period and there's an autozone on every corner so getting it warrantied should a problem arise is easy. id say on average they're good for 5 years. I put the Honda battery in my b13 its a bit smaller, lighter, and my intake doesn't rub on the battery. 51r is the battery series I believe, you just make a new hole in the battery tray for the j-hook and it looks o.e.m. oh, and you have to get the hold down off a civic or whatever Honda.

lol

watch their video. the "AGM" is just an absorbent material to soak up the acid and hold it against the lead.

Small Autozone preowned batteries have been good to me as well

Well, not too many choices under a small budget. I got one from Autozone and I was able to put back the OEM battery cover. Just need to get a new OEM negative cable and done!

Just like from factory!

I would also inspect, clean and @Kyle will tell you as well-dielectric grease! Use it on the terminals and where the cable mounts to the chassis, tranny and engine. Since your already getting messy I would take the time to do the same on the chassis grounds in the harness and also the grounds in and around the motor. Who knows, you get a little bit of power out of it. Just my 2ยข.

Huge fan of the purple aerosol spray from Permatex battery sealer. Along with dielectric grease on damn near every connection using a 'pin in hole' setup. Older cars loves this stuff since the electronics are not like they are now.

P.S. Just that little view of the engine bay brings happiness and joy to I. Nicely done, keep it up.
