I'd start with a new/rebuilt alternator. As Nismoguy stated it sounds like the voltage reg is shot.

Inclined to agree. Have to wait til it's at least 30 outside. No garage sucks. I am hoping it holds out til I can at least get some warmer weather. Next weekend so fat is looking to be pretty fair outside so maybe I can get it done then. I gather units from advance/local stores are garbage but there is a pretty reputable shop here that specializes in rebuilding alts and starters so I will probably give them a shout and see what their prices look like.
