Throw out bearing Question
So I have 3 different throw out bearings at my disposal. I have the OEM one that only has about 5000 miles on it, one that got aftermarket by NSK, and the one that was packaged with my Clutch Masters clutch. So, here is what I dont understand. The OEM bearing has a plastic delrin center that rids on the input shaft collar, the one that came in my Clutch Masters clutch looks the same as the stock but seems to have a larger ID than the stock. Then the NSK bearing has a metal inner where is rides on the input shaft collar. So, my question is? What is the best bearing to use? The reason that the OEM one only has 5000 miles on it is because I allowed my cousin to borrow my car for a month and he killed the clutch... what are ya going to do, its family.
Thanks guys

Also does the FWD throw out bearing need this retaining clip on it?

That clip does not apply to a FWD SR20 5 speed setup.

Personally - I prefer the delrin type center. If the Clutch Master one has a larger ID then it will not fit proper.

Please attach pics to verify correct clutch release bearing.

Also, replace the clutch release bearing clips EVERY time. P/N 30506-M8002

Factory clutch release bearing is 30502-53J05

NSK is OEM... As far as I can tell, every OEM bearing I have bought, six or seven now, have all had NSK on it.

No clip but to echo what LAM-PARK said, certainly buy new retaining clips for your new throw out bearing.

I just put in the stock one that I got from the dealership last time and said the hell with the others. And yes I did replace the clips. There was only a few thousandths of an inch different between the one that came with the clutch and the factory one. trans is back in the car now and should be up and running within the week
