Did this crop up after the tune-up? Where'd you get your cap and rotor? I got a cheap ass cap and rotor from Advance Auto and had similar issues. Turned out to be a defective cap, right out of the box. Spring/nipple thingy on the underside would not contact the rotor properly. Luckily the old pieces were still in the garbage can. I re-installed and figured it out quickly.

If you still have the old cap and rotor put them back on, one at a time, rotor first and see if the problem goes away. If you do not still have them order Genuine Nissan bits and proceed.

I am not sure how long the car sat before I bought it. However, I did fill the tank with fresh gas when I put it on the road. Like I said I have been driving it for at least a month so I have been putting fresh gas in it for that long.

I got the cap and rotor from Advance, but I did not go with the cheap one. I spent the extra cash on the better one. Like I said before it was running for at least 4 weeks after putting it on the road and then this issue came up out of nowhere. Any idea if this could be cold weather related?

I appreciate the support very much. I am going to try and tinker with it today. Very cold and snowy out today so I will try to drive it to a relatives garage so I can work on it. You guys wouldn't want to help me work on it where it sits now out in the cold even if you could teleport! lol

Honestly, as compared to OEM they're all cheap so don't rule the parts out because you didn't get the least expensive one. My car ran fine for almost a week then it was out of nowhere for me too. Sometimes it would start right up, other times I had to crank forever then eventually nothing. And it ran perfect before, I replaced only because the cap/rotor had obviously not been done for a while

Advance is pretty good with returns. Just go back and tell them you think the cap shit the bed and they may swap you one. It's worth a shot, right?

Yeah you can return pretty much anything at Advanced or Autozone, and if you don't have the receipt they give you store credit. Uh oh I just posted a "theory" and just further annoyed jagy

Update. I got fed up with trying to figure it out so I towed it to a mechanic. They found some chewed up wires from a mouse or something under the dash and replaced them. It ran ok for 2 days and yesterday it quit again. Same issue, can't get it to stay running so I guess that wasn't it. Today I went to the junkyard and pulled a fuel pump off a p11 G20 and swapped out mine. It started up, but died again. I called the mechanic back and they are going to come and take it tomorrow and try to diagnose it again.

Check the fuel pump holder take it out the tank and give it a thorough cleaning.

if you are really fed up with things you could always purchase a consult cable and serial cable adapter. from there you can read codes and watch many different sensorsvoltages. There is a few different softwares out there for this. I personally use nissan data scan but you will have to shell out a few bucks for that.

You don't need a consult cable to check codes in the ecu. Check the codes in the ecu and if it's weak ignition signal I might have an idea about what it is. Had a problem like that with my NX and nobody knew what it was. Thank god for the FSM I found the problem in 2 seconds.
