Picked up a used header, obstruction in secondary. Big deal?
Looks like this flex pipe had an internal mesh as well as outer. It detached at the front, will this obstruction be a big deal?

Running a '99 G20 with a '93 intake cam, stock cat and mandrel systems 2.25" catback with Maganaflow resonator and muffler.

That's not doing you any favors. Clean that stuff out. That's a serious restriction.

bet you wont feel the difference even if you do take all that out. not the end of the world on a stockish motor

It's fixed at the other end. Taking it out would be pretty hard. I have such a nice cat-back, I wanted a nice smooth ride. Maybe I'll leave it like this and replace the flex pipe in the spring.

I am mostly stock. Just want nice smooth and linear acceleration and a little gut. Driving is like dancing for me, any misstep kinda ruins the experience.

Anyone have any ideas what I might use to get that mesh out? It's connected to the flex pipe at the other end.

I've had luck removing similar obstructions by running an entire rotary tool with cutting disc down the tube. Or maybe one of those wand attachments for said rotary tool. It may take a lot of patience.

I thought the '93 intake cam was the same as 94-99, it was only the 91-92 cam that made the additional HP? Or maybe thats the 93.5

Oh cool, interesting info. Wouldn't be surprised though if some of those 1993.5's have the smaller cam. They are rare as bigfoot but I saw one once. 1993.5 lowport DE, original motor. Also automatic.

I have never seen a 1993.5 lowport....... did you get a picture?
91-93 intake cams are the same for almost all the chassis. The G20 model gave the A/T that was introduced in 1993.5 with a weaker cam.
