depends on what you plan to use it for, but i'd imagine a friction based lsd needs more "attention" than a mechanical one

The quaife is probably the lower maintenance option. I know with the clutch LSDs you have to change the trans oil every 3k miles. If you're not hard core tracking then the quaife is def the more tolerable diff.

so every single corner of the track your inside wheel is off the ground.. cant see that tbh for the 2% of the time that actually happens you will have more grip 98% of the time, and even if the inside wheel is off the ground the outside wheel isnt going to instantly spin up, the second the wheel touches back down you will be gripping again.

by all means buy the cusco but they are a nightmare to drive with daily, whereas you wont know the Quaife is there until you put your foot down.

Yes, @TheSam it happens a lot on FIA style curbs. (Have you been on a track with FIA curbs before, sir?)

And when the end that disengaged the LSD hits the tarmac again, it must re-spin and re-torque up the diff, engage, and then "be gripping again", sir.

For the 2% of the time where 100% importance of the car utilizing any and all grip available; there is a difference. (Albeit the difference does not suit 98% of the people registered on this forum)

I am more interested in more info such as price, availability, group buy maybe, Etc.... I looked on Quaife USA web site and they do not have the new unit listed on there so I sent them an e-mail to ask for more information. Maybe this can spawn a group buy. But if I start it, I cannot help it by fronting money. That would be up to the rest of the forum.

I am interested in getting one, the catalog for 2013 listed the MSRP at 660 British Pounds Sterling which which equal about $1000 USD.

EDIT: "The QUAIFE patented Automatic Torque Biasing (ATB) differential is designed to prevent the complete loss of drive that occurs with a conventional differential when one wheel slips. Whilst requiring some torque in the slipping wheel, the QUAIFE unit is progressive in action but never locks - controlled power is transmitted to all the driving wheels. Ideally suited to high powered front wheel drive systems, QUAIFE ATB differentials are also used in rear and four wheel drive vehicles where optimum traction is required. Installation is identical to the normal differential with bearing pre-loads and pinion mesh being restored to the original manufacturers' settings. Servicing of the unit is simple as all gear pinions are free fitting and normal final drive lubrication oils are retained."

From the only Quaife dealer in the US:

"At the moment I am waiting on pricing information then I will reply with the group purchase inquiry.

As for as the group purchase I'm not sure how it will work here in the US and need to check the possibility.
We (motovicity) are the exclusive dealers of Quaife products here in the US but the main hurdle is we only
deal on a wholesale level.

With that said, perhaps a shop who sells Quaife here in the US who has an account with us may be able to set something up.
Upon speculation I think that may be the only way to do it."
