Forgot to mention, if the insulator on the positive stud of the alt is intact then the voltage regulator in the alt may have shit the bed. If the insulator looks good and the positive cable is not in contact with the alt body pull the alt and have it tested.

Also suspect is your A/C compressor. It was on, and if it is beginning to seize up it could cause a major amperage draw. Pull the belt and try spinning the pulley. Does it spin freely or does it feel like it's binding up?

Definitely true, try throwing a couple kids into the mix too.

Get to it when you can and if I have time I'll see if I can get down there to help. Is your new pad still in the same area?

Kind of, but a bit further north. Still in Delaware Valley though.

****UPDATE WITH PICS****

So I finally had a chance to look at the car today. Here's what I found:

There was a long 8mm bolt loose coming out of the alternator. I tightened it back by hand (you can see it in the photo on the right side of the alternator) and I found this:

.

.
.

Here's me, pointing to the wire:
.
.

.
.

This is the fuse that blew up (burned):
.
.

.
.

As I said, I suck with electronics, but it appears to me that wire was connected to that bolt, the bolt came loose allowing the wire to hit something metal or whatever while driving and blew the fuse.

What do you think?

that 8mm bolt grounds the alt to the chassis, i've seen car not even running them, it shouldn't have caused the issue from touchin anything, on the other hand maybe the alts not getting good enough ground so it over loaded?

OR its a part of the same issue an the ground comin off or whatever was caused from the same shit.. idk .. keep lookin..

Interesting.. its like the worst timing ever haha. I'm on tour in Maryland this weekend and just bought a new house in PA. I get like no sleep and had about 20 minutes to look at it today and that's what I found.

I do remember that right before everything went to shit and the fuse blew, the windshield wipers (which I was using at the time because of some rain) were wiping **SUPER** fast. Like crazy crazy fast, even on the slowest setting, like they were on steroids. If you blinked you'd miss the one wipe across the windshield. It was bizarre, like they had extra power, then the fuse blew and I smelled smoke, and luckily was home. Motor was still running when I got home, but once I shut it off nothing worked electrically.

Sounds like the voltage reg went bad maybe. A napa, carquest, advance do at testing free. Napa stores with newer testers are the only ones that load the alternators for a more realistic test out of all the big box stores.

That bolt is not the issue, it's ground because it's part of the alt body, just a coincidence. That wire COULD BE the issue. Looks like it could have grounded on the headed. What is that wire supposed to got to? That's the question. Find where it's supposed to go.

Note: If the wipers were going faster than normal that indicates higher voltage, which leads me to believe the voltage reg in the alt shit the bed. Pull that alt and have it tested at Pep Boys/Advance/local guy before putting any new parts in.

Yes, those wipers were moving FRIGHETNINGLY fast. They moved across the windshield so fast it was like a joke. Then I put it on the full 3rd fastest setting to see what would happen and it was like a helicopter. I'll take your advice about the alt.
