Very interesting! So you believe it may have the incorrect ECU installed? Perhaps this extra picture might help confirm.

I tried zooming on the original picture but it's not clear enough. I called my friend that owns the car, he says that it reads "Ja18k11 br8" - from my information that I found, that seems to be a 1998 ECU? The car is a 1996.

BINGO!

Start with a 95-97 ECU and go from there. That should take care of several codes alone.

For future reference, JWT has a Nissan ECU Identification chart on their website. http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/ECU-ID.PDF

Thank you so much! Armed with that information, I think picking this up is a good choice. I was going to pick up a base-model B13, but why not get another SR20DE-powered rig complete with the same limited-slip diff for around the same price?

Once again, fellow members of this forum come through with exactly the help and information that I need!

Just so you know, that is an intake pipe from a 1.6 Injen intake. Doesn't really matter, but it is shorter and has the funny shaped hoses and pipe angles compared to the SR20 intake they made. Definitely get back to us after you swap the ecu's out...perhaps they were attempting to get rid of the speed limiter and raise the rev with what they thought was a g20 ecu? Just an assumption since it has an Infiniti valve cover...someone didn't know what they were doing.

I might have my old stock ECU of my 96 200SX some where in my room full of parts. If you are interested or you can always look for a 94-96 MT G20 ECU is little upgrade from stock ECU (Fuel Map is a little better, rev limiter is raised and no speed limiter) Exactly what I got in the car right now till a Calum Basic OBD2 shows ups or till JKtuning comes up with a OBD2 ECU

Looks like I am buying the car tomorrow! Wasn't going to be shopping for a winter / DD (after turning the B13 into a dedicated race rig) car for another month or two, but I can't argue with this car for the price I was expecting to spend on a decent base model B13!

Thanks again for all the help and input, guys!

I don't like the looks of that zip-tie around the relay box and the painted interior bits, but $900 is a great price. BTW, pink pinstripe looks fabulous over teal!
