$900 200SX SE-R with a catch - buy or run away fast?
A buddy of mine from college bought a 200SX SE-R at auction a while back but cannot seem to sort out an issue preventing it from passing the OBD emissions inspection, and it so happens that I need something to keep my B13 SE-R off the road for the winter, so he has offered his 200SX SE-R to me for $900. It is in excellent shape overall with 156,000 miles on the clock. However, the previous owner had installed things like a cold air intake and headers, and it has what I assume to be a MAJOR electrical problem causing a whole slew of engine codes.

The codes are as follows:
P0110 p0180 p1490 p0105 p1492 P0141 p0446 P0443 p1105 p1220

Aside from that, the car drives excellently and is in great shape aside from the sketchy CAI and the headers (I have a thing against buying modified cars normally), and otherwise the car appears as stock. Does anyone know if there is a faulty electrical circuit that would cause the ECU to throw all of these codes? Considering that it runs great aside from an occasional rough idle, I'd doubt the actual components are causing the codes.

I figure that if it isn't an electrical nightmare, it's a steal for $900! Or are those codes going to be such an electrical nightmare that I should just pass? It's a buddy of mine that owns it and he just doesn't have the ability to work on it himself. Just to clarify that it isn't some "Buy Here Pay Here" dealership guy trying to pass a lemon to me!

So you think each of those codes is actually the individual components causing them, and not an electrical problem causing all of the codes?

On another note, I actually quite like the teal! I guess it helps that green is my favorite color.

CODE: [FSM Reference from a 99 SR FSM] http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Sentra/1999_Sentra_SR/ec.pdf

UPDATED: 6/23/2013
Originally I pulled the code info from a 97 GA by mistake. Then it dawned on me in the shower, What year is this car? Looked like a 95-97 but it has a codes that did not exist in 95-97 cars. Some of the codes were only in 98+ ECU. A HA!

Get the correct ECU and go from there. I can't believe I didn't see that sooner!

P0110: [EC-131] Intake Air Sensor
P0180: [EC-241] Tank Fuel Temperature Sensor

P1492: [EC-432] Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Control Valve/Solenoid Valve (Circuit)
P0141: [EC-226] Rear Heated O2 Sensor Heater
P0446: [EC-302] Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Control Valve (Circuit)
P0443: [EC-296] Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Volume Control Valve (Circuit)

I think that rare NISMO intake manifold is worth $900 alone.

I say buy it. You could probably sell a lot of the stuff from it if you have to. I'd suggest buying a piece of shit civic for winter but if you have no other choice I'd say yeah for sure drive that B14 and store the B13 in the garage.

I'll do anything as a winter beater, but I would definitely like to have a Sentra! I was planning on a base-model B13 and am still considering this one - Opinions seem to be mixed, it's a tough call...
