SR20 to CD20T engine corversion
So guys, wouldnt it be great if we started importing the CD20T Turbo diesel engine that came in the P11 Nissan Primera's? For gas mileage purposes.

My father has a P10 diesel (CD20 I believe) in DR that was imported from Europe, next time I go to DR ill take pics of it.

It would be neat, but not sure if trans is the same or not. I woudl think they could use same trans though, just different bellhousing if anything. You would want the front clip if you were going to do it.

^^ Exactly! I wouldn't care if I got 40mpg with a turbo diesel. With the gas prices, it wouldn't make a difference if I had a 26mpg car running unleaded.

Not worth the cost.

I paid $4.16 for 93 this morning, 87 was $3.96, diesel was $4.60.
Diesel vs 87 = 16% more $
Diesel vs 93 = 10.6% more $

40mpg vs 26 mpg: (40-26)/26 = 53.8% increase mpg for only 16% more $ (87 oct).

The diesel B13 for sale on craig's list *claimed* 50mpg+.
I think that's probably attainable.
I get around 35mpg avg in the summer with my bolt on S4 JWT ECU B13.
With a JWT ECU or 19 deg timing, you're supposed to run premium.
To get ahead on diesel vs premium, only need to get 11% better mileage. +11% of 35mpg = 38.9mpg.

I'd guess most B13s are getting closer to 30-32mpg.
32+11% = 35.5mpg
In that case the break even point is only a 3.5mpg gain with diesel vs 87 oct.

It's probably worth it in the long run for a daily driver, but really depends on
you're current mpg, local gasoline vs diesel $, how much the swap would cost and how many miles you drive each year.

damn that **** hurt my head with all them numbers... with the swap cost and tuning to get it to work right it woul be a while before it would even be remotly cost worthy... plus gas is only going up who knows what it will look like this summer

I was just going to do the formula but someone beat me to it.

reference: miamigasprices.com
Reg: 3.91
Premium: 4.22
Diesel: 4.50

Not much of a difference. I pump 93 octane in my VE NX and its getting pretty costly ($43.00 to fill up the other day!!!!!!!!)
