Fuelpump install woes
Hi! Decided to install my Walbro 255 this evening, and ran into 2 issues. I' wondering how severe they are, and if they need to be redone.

1. O-ring for assembly had expanded, and could not go into the groove. I cut it, and RTV'd the patch. Should I install a new O-ring, or is it safe to run RTV?
2. I forgot the locking washer for the sock! It's still pushed in with the rubber gromet, so i don't think it will come loose, but is it critical that I take everything apart and install it?

replace the fuel cover o-ring. this needs to be done every time you access the fuel pump. you need to put the lock ring on the fuel sock.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply, I'll order a new O-ring asap and open it up!

Yea - that O-ring is important. It keeps gas fumes out of the passenger compartment. I have tried cutting and refitting but it never works very well. Now I keep a spare O-ring in the garage in case I have to open up a fuel tank.
