Momo wheel/hub - tight steering?
Hey gang,

Yesterday I ripped out the steering wheel and airbag crap in my NX and installed a momo hub and Jet steering wheel that I purchased from a forum member who totalled his very nice B13. Installation was easy and straight forward. After installing, I torqued the steering wheel nut to 22-29ft lbs per FSM specifications. After this, I noticed the steering was TIGHT! Felt like no power steering. Now, the steering wheel is a good bit smaller than the OE wheel so after talking to some members in chat, maybe gear reduction will make it harder to turn...but it was frickin' tight. I backed off the steering wheel nut to about 20ft lbs and it feels better now, but I want to make sure it'll be safe. It looks like this hub makes more contact with the plastic back there, so I put some white lithium grease around the copper ring on the back of the hub to help keep things lubricated. Anyone else experienced a tighter steering wheel after installing something aftermarket like this? I've yet to take it for a drive but will shortly.

I installed a N14 steering wheel in my NX. Had to shave off some plastic to make it turnable. Do whatever you need to do!
