Sometimes women and cars, don't mix. LOL
This is going to be one of the more bizarre posts you will read on this forum in awhile.

So the other day I was power washing my SE-R and the Nissan emblem fell off the front grill. Luckily I saw it fall off and grabbed it. I went to the store and got some .99 cent superglue to get it back on there.

When we got home, I asked my g/f to come outside and help me glue it back on.

Big mistake.

I handed her a rag to place on the front bumper under the grille to catch any superglue that may dribble down. I guess she put the rag in her left pocket.

So I put glue on the back of the emblem, aligned it properly, and held it on to seal it for like 2 minutes. I saw a few drops of glue about to fall down and told her to place the rag on the bumper BUT INSTEAD OF PUTTING DOWN THE RAG, SHE PUT DOWN A FRIKKIN WALMART RECEIPT SHE HAPPENED TO HAVE IN HER OTHER POCKET. I didn't notice it at first because I was using both hands to hold the emblem firm against the grille.

So some drips of superglue fell onto the Walmart receipt, soaked through and then apparently glued the black ink into my WHITE paint. I of course, flipped out. She said she grabbed it out of the wrong pocket by accident. The paint is of course, pretty much ruined.

So far I've tried:

1) Rubbing alcohol
2) Heavy duty engine degreaser
3) Rubbing compound
4) Cleaner wax
5) Scrubbing the shit out of it with soap
6) Mother's clay bar
and
7) My last resort is lacquer thinner. I have not yet used it, I'm afraid.

This paint job, while not the greatest, was like $1,400 and it's only 10 months old. I told her if I can't get this shit out, she's paying for it. Any suggestions on how to get black ink super glued into the paint off a WHITE car?? I even called a body shop and they were like "uhh wait, can you say that again?? WHAT HAPPENED?" :wtf:

OH and here's the photo of the damage:

first let me say that really sucks.Man sorry.
Next let me say WTF are using superglue for?
If it happens again, get some 3m doublesided tape.Works great and no mess.
If you must use glue 3m actually has emblem adhesive made for that(although not cheap for what it is)

I used superglue because it seems that the 3M double sided tape kind of causes the emblem to stick out more than it's supposed to.

Ok so I used Nail polish remover and WD40. It did not work well, BUT the nail polish remover worked ever so *slightly* - it took a tiny bit off. But not noticeable much.

So since acetone is in nail polish remover (although at a lower concentration/strength since it goes on human skin) I thought well, maybe a stronger concoction would help. Went to Walmart (ironically, the store who's receipt caused all the problem in the 1st place, hah) and got this product for $9:

BEFORE:

Went to town with a brand new rag for about 10 minutes on the spot....

AFTER:

Spotless. By the way, it's raining outside so that's why you see water on the hood.

I went over the area again with Meguiar's cleaner wax to remove any remaining lacquer thinner, buffed it, then dumped a bucket of water all over it and dried it off with fresh towels.

:-)

Sorry but I laughed, glad you got everything resolved. I understand how hard it is to keep grease/stains off a white car.

Haha, I laughed too, even that it was my own car. I mean this is something that would happen to George Costanza or something.
