Did you have a look at EF & EC 445?
I am not able to figure out why your ignition becomes intermittent, though *maybe* you have a hard to see leak, proper ignition leads mileage and age wise can 'punch' (I know my translator did not translate that word very well), I mean the high voltage may have went through the insulation somewhere. It can be so small hard to find, I test that by touching everything when engine runs, might give you a nasty shock, using spraywater at night works too.
I also would suspect the connectors of the ignition leads, those can be stuck and break down by inserting and removing, it can be parts that are clicked together, not welded or so. And you can Ohm test your cables, that is in MA-24
if this helps you, send the money to the forum
p.s. The coil replacement was for a new one? It still sounds as a coil problem too, my coil replacement actually gave power increase while there was no problem selling the old coil, I replaced for one with same mileage, I did throw it away though and it both had clean connector, that little round hole I mean. If there is oxide it will stop someday.
