yet another problem . upper trans. mount
so i went to get my oil changed and the dude said Both your front struts (Ksport) have no hydraulic fluid and im pretty much using the spring... said something like that, then he said there's another problem , my upper transmission mount is completely broken , said parts + labor 265 .

sooo. i was just looking around for that mount and see there's only one kind of mount ... said there's three in total is this the right one used for all mounts or is there some other different trans.mount specifically for the upper part ?

2001 NISSAN SENTRA Transmission Mount

what shall i do about my coilovers? rebuild? gave me a price 329 part + labor each side ... thats stock part i assume

You should typically ignore what the oil change guys say. They're trained to tell you things are messed up so that they can make more money.

Right, I'm sure he used the dip stick to check the damper's oil level.

Unless you see oil blown all over the strut housing and your car is bouncing like a go-go dancer, I wouldn't worry about it.

The mount could be an issue. If I were you, I'd start to learn to work on it yourself and avoid the snakes all together.

Many years ago, (when my car was still newish and I still took it to Nissan for maintenance), the service manager told me I needed to replace some (can't remmeber) suspension bushings up front on my less than 5 year old B15. Well, later that day I checked all the bushings I could find and did not notice any that were cracked or worn. Now, many years later, the bushings are still there and they are still FINE! I can't even begin to tell you the number of times others have recommended replacing parts that did not need to be replaced. If I were you, I would get a second opinion on the proposed work.

I would not spend that type of money to rebuild K-Sports. Get the second opinion on the suspension and then see where you are.

If the entire trans mount needs to be replaced I would use OEM parts before I use Rock Auto stuff. I would search for a good used part on the forums or at the junkyard, as the new ones from the dealership are not cheap in comparison. Maybe you could try G-Spec Performance for price? The mount is not really all that difficult to change either. Grab a buddy to help you out. Grab a socket set. Grab a jack/stand kit (to support trans) and go to work.

You can use Vadim's thread as a guide.

he said there was three in total said the others are good but the rear one ? is broke and advised me that it wouldn't last for another 5000 miles .

and i would grab a jack n stand n a friend that knows mechanics but i have none of those .

wonder if anyone has a diagram of where that upper tranny mount is , maybe i can look down or stick my hand under my car and take a pic
