so I have voltage at the connector for the fuel pump. so I traced the ground all the way to a plug not connected to anything on the rear passenger side, I can not figure out where that used to plug into. I just put a jumper to a bolt and the pump now runs. it still doesn't start though.

I'm suspecting the crankshaft sensor plug being broken has something to do with it. ill find out in a few days when I find one.

I think you need to take a step back and check the basics. Yes your pump is now running, but are you injectors firing? Do you know how to check for it? Do you have spark? Do you know how to check for it? Have you looked at the fsm wiring diagram to see where that plug is supposed to go? Chances are, your problem is goin to be something simple.

I have spark, I pulled the plugs and laid them on the intake manifold. I don't know how to check the injectors, when I pulled the plugs they were wet, and I smelled fuel. I'm guessing they are firing from that alone.

I don't know if the fuel has anything to do with it. its not the freshest but the 1.6 L ran on it.

I have not checked the fsm for the wiring of that plug I will probably go do that now.
